Maid Coup

Seo-yoon lives in her older sister Se-ah’s house, taking responsibility for the housework and errands, existing in a life shaped by constant scrutiny and silence. By chance, Jin-seok comes to possess a secret about Seo-yoon, and by alternating between kindness and threat, he seizes control of their relationship. Under the commands of a man who holds her secret, a woman trained like a maid learns silence instead of refusal and grows accustomed to the rules of obedience.

As time passes, Jin-seok’s demands seep ever deeper into her daily life, and Seo-yoon, fearful of exposure, pushes herself into an increasingly subordinate position. Inside the house, everything appears calm, as if nothing is wrong — but that calm is a false order built upon Seo-yoon’s submission.

At a critical moment, Seo-yoon realizes that silence no longer protects her. Using the very methods by which she was trained, she turns against Jin-seok, exploiting the evidence and weaknesses he has relied upon and reversing the balance of power. By dismantling the relationship that defined her as a ‘maid’, Seo-yoon reveals the truth, leaving Jin-seok isolated and powerless.

The story ends at the moment when the woman who once stood at the very bottom overturns the board by wielding silence as a weapon, revealing that the true upheaval occurred not within the house, but within the relationship itself.
